Mirrors of Reality
Have you ever looked into a mirror and wondered what happened that changed you from the last time you looked? Good news! Why not? Because you really aren't looking at something that's real! It's not only temporary but it's distorted! God's Word is Your Mirror of Reality When we look into that mirror we actually see the real reflection and as we do it more we become more and more like Jesus. That is our goal. There are many times that people try and try to follow all of a list of rules. They think Christianity is too difficult and give up trying. They are looking at the distorted, blurry image and thinking that it's permanent. Reality It's nice, and hard to believe sometimes, that someone thinks good things about us. We might not even like ourselves all the time. The amazing and awesome thing is that God sees us differently. He sees a clear and beautiful image of His children. Mirror of Reality Changes our perspectives To see the real image ourselves we're to read what He's said. The mirror of reality actually changes us! When we look into what God has said we learn who we are and more. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 we are told what love is... We're to be like our Father God (Ephesians 1:5). If you've ever watched young kids and compared them to their parents, you'll see how they imitate them in a lot of ways. God designed this and wants us as His children to do the same. We're to mimic God... He is love That can be an overwheming thought! It can easily be taken as a list of do's and don'ts. In the physical realm it's really impossible to do a good job of that all the time! But in the spiritual realm God already did this for us! When we look to Jesus and keep our eyes on Him we see changes in ourselves taking place with little effort on our parts. He changes us into the reality that He sees in us! Keep your focus on reality! Religion Versus Science: The Truth I find myself amazed and appalled that such strong antipathy exists in this day and age between non-believes and believers--and between diverse groups of believers--that murder and injustice are perpetrated daily on innocent men, women and children.Whether Christian, Jew, Pagan, Muslim, Hindu, or any other believer or non-believer, we must know that hatred and intolerance are not God's way, no matter how we may conceive the fact of creation: whether as an Old Testament God or Wrath and Mercy or the Big Bang. The Holy Spirit is our Teacher Now that we know God and Jesus want to release Their knowledge direct to us from Their throne room in heaven - how is this knowledge actually transmitted to us? This will now bring us into the next set of Scripture verses.These next three verses will tell us that this knowledge is given to the Holy Spirit - and then the Holy Spirit, who is already living on the inside of us, will be the one to transmit all of this knowledge to us! The Holy Spirit will thus become your personal guide and personal teacher in this life. The Exodus And the matter of who is doing the abusing is the most important thing we as a world full of equal people must ascertain. Who are the Benjaminites who were thrown out of Israel and later returned under Judas Maccabee? Who are these mercenaries who protected Egypt from the Elephantine stronghold?To be sure there are many perspectives on the history of Israel and the Jews. Biblically Speaking of Evil and National Security We have been learning to think Biblically and speak Scripturally about evil in order to teach our children about the dangers present in our fallen world, while setting our affections on things above (Colossians 3:2) and staying Spiritually minded (Romans 8:6). We first noticed that "it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret" (Ephesians 5:12), so we don't speak of those things. Sexual Deviants and the Catholic Church It is unfortunate that the Catholic Church seems to continue their abuse and molestation of our youth and children. Yet it is not all that surprising, since they are sworn to celibacy and there are known and documented physiological needs of man.
